This yet to ship $199 different looking box just might turn out to be evolutional. For starters it supports both DVD and Blu-ray playback including loseless audio! Throw in an RF remote with a keyboard, built-in Wi-Fi, support for third-party apps and you just might make the streaming nerds smile.

Of course it’s too early to tell but if you are serious about streaming the Boxee Box is worth a pre-order. It’s not that much more expensive than the HD TV Live Plus especially if you are wanting wireless and you get naive Blu-ray support. We’ll know more once we get our hands on one but right now it looks like it’s the beginning of the next wave of streamers.
