It was only a matter of time before OPPO Digital introduced a new Blu-ray player which turns out to be the BDP-93.
However what is surprising is they have stopped selling the current models including the BDP-80 and BDP-83. Presumably the BDP-83SE will no longer be available as well once the current stock has been sold. The new model catches OPPO up with the competition as far as missing features go and continues to offer build quality and high-end features not found on the lessor priced players.
The BDP-93 will sell for $499 and is expected to be available in November. Beta testing is well underway so let’s hope it ships before the end of the year! Highlights include:

- Netflix
- Dual HDMI output
- 3D
- SACD
- Built-in Wi-Fi
Appears to be another winner from OPPO and we can’t wait to give one a spin.
